TRAUMA IS NOT STORED IN A SPECIFIC EVENT,
BUT IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
OF THE PERSON AFFECTED.

Understanding trauma
The nervous system as the key to healing
Sometimes our body reacts even though we “know” the event is over. Tension, withdrawal, sleep disturbances, or emotional numbness are often not conscious choices — but expressions of a nervous system stuck in a state of ongoing alertness.
Somatic Experiencing® (SE) understands trauma not as a psychological disorder, but as a physically stored reaction to an overwhelming experience. The crucial factor is not the event itself, but how the body and mind responded — and how this reaction has become anchored in the body’s memory.
SE offers the possibility to rebuild inner safety through mindful body awareness, inner resources, and small steps — without having to relive the traumatic experience.
Typical Issues and Concerns:
- Chronic tension or emotional absence
- Unexplained physical symptoms or withdrawal
- Sensitivity to stimuli, inner restlessness
- Feeling unable to “find calm”
- Desire to understand one’s own bodily reactions
What to expect:
In a safe environment, we explore how stressful patterns show up in the body — and how new experiences of safety, connection, and orientation become possible.
If you long for more inner calm, clarity, and self-efficacy, I would be glad to accompany you on this path.
